The Lion King Jr. Production
Disney’s The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world, and now you have the opportunity to have your student be a part of this one-of-a-kind musical at Playhouse Merced. Bring the African savanna to life on your stage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale.
The Lion King JR. features classic songs from the Broadway musical and animated feature film, including “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “He Lives in You,” and “Hakuna Matata.” Young performers will also get the chance to learn a wide range of new theatrical skills—such as mask-making and puppetry—encouraging them to explore this beloved story with creativity and pride.
Playhouse Merced Conservatory is a Music, Dance & Theater Class designed to help students in the main components of theater arts. In this class, kids will learn how to audition; they will receive vocal training, dance lessons and acting instruction; as well as prop making and more – all while working toward a production at the end of the semester.
$400 for the whole summer semester (Scholarships Available)

Semester Dates: June 8th – July 26th 2026 Age range: 7-17
Class Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Morning Cast: 9:00AM – 12:00PM
Evening Cast: 1:00PM – 4:00PM (a student can do BOTH shows & casts this summer if desired, they will be cast as different characters)
Add-Ons: Early Arrival: 1 hour before class time – $100 per semester or $15 per class
Late Pick Up: 1 hour after class time – $100 per semester or $15 per class
