There is no shortage of family-friendly ways to have fun this week in Merced County! If you are out and about for the holiday, be sure to bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.

The City of Atwater will once again have a full day of events on Friday, July 4 in Ralston Park, followed by evening fireworks at the Castle Commerce Center. Festivities kick off at 7:30 a.m. with the Run for Independence, followed by the Annual Fourth of July Parade at 9 a.m. A festival will be held in Ralston Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the concert and fireworks show is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. For more details visit the event website.
The City of Livingston will hold its July 4 celebration from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Max Foster Sports Complex. The event will include food, live entertainment, a Little Mr. and Miss Fourth of July Pageant and a fireworks show. For more details visit the event’s Facebook page.
The City of Gustine will have its annual 4th of July parade at 10:30 a.m. Friday in downtown, followed by the Independence Day in the Park Celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Henry Miller Park. Merced Irrigation District will hold its “Lights on the Lake” fireworks celebration on Saturday, July 5 on Lake McClure and Lake McSwain. The fireworks show begins at 9 p.m. For tickets, rules and entrance fees visit the MID website.
