California Central Valley Dust Perception and Air Quality Survey

This survey is part of a research project conducted by Dr. Adebiyi, Md. Minhazul Kibria, and Avinav Biswas of the Aerosol-Climate Group at the University of California, Merced. The purpose of this study is to better understand how residents perceive dust in their communities and how those perceptions relate to measured air quality conditions across California’s Central Valley.
Dust is an important contributor to air pollution in the Central Valley and affects respiratory health, especially during dry and windy conditions. Your responses will help researchers examine how public perceptions of dust exposure, health concern, and air quality awareness compare with measured PM10 levels in different parts of the region.
Participation is voluntary. You may exit the survey at any time. This study involves no more than minimal risk; the questions ask only about your perceptions and experiences with dust and air quality.
Privacy. We do not collect your name, email address, or any direct identifiers. Your ZIP code is used only to group responses into regions and is never linked to your identity. Responses are stored securely in an access-restricted account available only to the research team, used for research purposes only, and retained in accordance with applicable university research record-keeping requirements.
