The Merced FOCUS is gearing up for the 2024 general election, and believe it or not, that’s right around the corner. 

Merced County voters will receive their ballots shortly after Oct. 7, the date they’re scheduled to be mailed out.

This year’s ballot is packed with races ranging from Congress, state representatives, lots of races for mayor and city council across the county and school boards. Plus voters will also see a countywide public safety tax ballot measure and plenty of school bond measures.

As a startup newsroom, we’re thinking about how best to cover local election issues, and there are quite a few this time around.

We want to provide our community with reliable and fair information about the people and issues on the ballot. To do that, we need to know what questions you have and what you care about.
